How to become a Vtuber

Let's install the necessary apps,
set up the streaming screen, and prepare to stream on YouTube!

❶ Install the necessary software on your computer

In addition to nizima LIVE, please use "OBS Studio", a free streaming and recording software. You can also use other streaming software.

Download nizima LIVE

After downloading nizima LIVE, follow the instructions on the screen to install it.
Once the installation is complete, launch the software.

Download OBS Studio

Install it after downloading OBS Studio.
Once the installation is complete, launch the software.

❷ Import a model in nizima LIVE

If you have a Live2D model, add a model from the model list icon at the top of the main menu.
If you don't have a Live2D model, try the sample models embedded in nizima LIVE first!

❸ Set up the camera and background in nizima LIVE

Track with the camera

Click the "Camera settings" icon from the main menu of nizima LIVE and select the camera you want to use.

● You can use either a webcam or an iPhone, but an iPhone is recommended for better tracking accuracy.

Remove the background

Click "Background settings" from the main menu of nizima LIVE and select "Remove background". You can hide the UI of nizima LIVE by double-clicking the nizima LIVE window.

❹ Load nizima LIVE in OBS Studio

  • From the "Sources" panel, click "+" and select one of the following: "Window capture", "Game capture", or "nizima_LIVE".

  • Give the source a name and click OK.

  • Select nizima LIVE in "Window" and press OK when displayed

❺ Load a game in OBS Studio

Do the same as for "04. Load nizima LIVE in OBS Studio" to load games.

Click "+" and select "Windows capture" or "Game capture". If you select "Game capture", set the "Mode" to "Specific window capture" and select the game you want to display from the "Window" list. You can move the items added to the sources up and down. The item at the top will be displayed in front of the other layers in the preview window.

● The appropriate settings vary depending on the game. If you want to display a video game, you will need special equipment.
● If you want to display a background or comments, you can set them up in OBS Studio together.

❻ Linking to a streaming platform

Register for YouTube

Open YouTube and register for an account. Click here for the YouTube website.

Prepare for streaming with OBS Studio

From the "Settings" menu in OBS Studio, select "Streaming".
From "Service", select YouTube and click "Connect Account".

Prepare for streaming on YouTube

Set up on the YouTube side to be able to start a live stream.
For conditions, please refer to the "YouTube Help" page.

Stream with OBS Studio

Set up your stream from the stream management menu.
(If you want to schedule a stream, check the "Schedule" box.)
After finishing the setup, click 'Create and Start Streaming' to start the stream.
To end the stream, click "End stream".
